5 Cutting Tools for Crafters

These must have cutting tools will help you greatly in your crafting.

I have been doing crafts for a long time now and there are always some tools I need or want but these 5 types of cutting tools are my go to tools for when I need to get the job done.

Scissors

Fine tip precision scissors are by far my most used scissors. I have been using these by EK Tools for years.

 

Paper Trimmers

A good paper trimmer is definitely a must. After using many different brands, the EK Tools rotary paper trimmer is my go to if I need a portable paper trimmer. However, my most used paper trimmer is a guillotine style paper trimmer. I prefer this one as I feel it cuts much straighter lines.  The bonus of this paper trimmer is that it actually comes with a detachable rotary trimmer so if you want both, get this one! I will warn you, it takes up space on your counter top because it isn’t a small paper trimmer.

                          

Straight Edge Cutting

Sometimes scissors and paper trimmers just won’t do the job so another cutting tool that I use a lot is an Xacto Knife. I use this tool when my Silhouette doesn’t completely cut through the paper I’m trying to cut from.

Circle Cutter

Since I design and use party printables for every party I host, a circle cutter is a must for cutting out the cupcake toppers, party favor tags, etc. I like this circle cutter because I can cut out pretty much any size I need

Punches

Punches are also needed when crafting and especially when you are doing a DIY party using party printables. You need a hole punch to string banners, etc. I also sometimes use circle punches for the cupcake toppers and favor tags.
