This Easter centerpiece will only take seconds to put together and will add an adorable touch to your table.
For as long as I can remember, I have used unconventional items in my house for decorating….mainly for holidays (especially if the budget is tight). I have also been known to use decor from one holiday to decorate for another holiday.
All it takes is a little bit of imagination.
I have recently started collecting cake stands. I don’t know why, really….I don’t bake that many cakes but I have developed a love of pretty cake stands. So when I find them, I buy them.
The dollar spot at Target has been enabling my obsession with these cute little scalloped cake stands with colored bases. I picked this one with an aqua base as soon as they put it out a few weeks ago. It screamed Spring.
Now what to do with this cute little cake stand……
Last week I was pulling my Spring/Easter decor out of my holiday closet (out in the garage) and found a bag of plastic Easter eggs that I had snatched up on clearance last year. I thought surely I could find a decorative use for them.
I also came across an aqua colored grapevine wreath that I had purchased a few years ago.
My wheels started turning.
I brought the eggs and the wreath in and as I saw the wreath setting on the counter, it reminded me a little of a nest. Hmmm…..
Now if I could just track down some Easter grass. Every one has Easter grass, right? Nope. Not me. How does that happen?!
Oh, that’s right, I’m not a fan of Easter grass. It gets everywhere. Maybe I’ll postpone my dislike of it this one time. You know, for the sake of decor.
I loved the way this Easter centerpiece turned out! So much so that I may or may not have made another one for my kitchen table using the base of a large tiered tray that I had stashed in serving ware cabinet.

This is so cute! What a great idea and I hear you on the Easter grass. I prefer to use shredded paper. I’m also loving cake stands although resisted all but one so far. I found a cute one for a good price at Home Goods last fall. If I had more space to store them, I’m sure I’d buy more. I can help but browse the kitchen section each time looking at them.

My obsession started with the small cakestands in the Target Dollar Spot. Darn that Target! LOL
