Home Tour + Girls Shared Bedroom

This adorable shared bedroom was designed around some very inexpensive bedding found at HomeGoods. 

My girls, being twins, have shared a bedroom since birth. The plan is to have them share a bedroom until if/when they decide that they want their own rooms. Honestly though, I don’t see that happening anytime soon. They are pretty inseparable.

The names from their nursery survived the tornado so I decided to reuse them. All I had to do was paint them to match the colors of their new room. When I was researching little girls’ bedrooms, Pinterest told me I needed to put canvases of each of their girls above their respective beds.

Another reused item were the butterflies. They happened to match perfectly! I also found the butterfly pictures at HomeGoods the same day I bought the bedding.

It’s not a large room….especially when there are two beds in it, but they have a dedicated play room so the nice thing is that there are no toys to clutter up their bedroom. 

Somehow their chest of drawers also survived (it was on an interior wall of their room). The plan is to repaint it someday. I haven’t decided yet, what color to paint it though so it remains dark brown.

Opposite their beds is a cube shelf for extra storage. Right now there are blankets and diapers & such in those bins. I’m sure as their clothes get bigger and we start running out of room, the function of these cubes will change.

I loved putting their gallery all together! I inherited the old clock from my grandma and decided it should be the center of the gallery wall so it got a fresh coat of chalk paint. Another canvas of my goofy girls was a fun addition to the wall as well. Since printables are a must have to any gallery wall, I designed a couple to finish off the whole look.

So that’s the room! There are still some things I’d like to do an a couple of things I plan to change so I’ll update as soon as those things are done.
