This fall wreath using fabric and flower embellishments is adorable and so easy to make. With these simple instructions, you’ll be making these wreaths for all your friends and family!
If you read my post, How to Style a Fall Vignette, you may have noticed the wreath hanging above my vignette. I made this little wreath a few years ago and I still get compliments on it. I’ve even taught a class on how to make them and have made more since then!
DIY Fall Wreath
Materials:
- Styrofoam wreath
- 1/2-1 yard of fabric (I used 2 different patterns for this project)
- Embellishments (fabric or faux flowers, feathers, mini pumpkins, etc.)
- Glue (hot glue does not work great on certain types Styrofoam)
Before you start assembling your wreath, you will need to tear or cut strips of the fabric that you will be using to wrap around the wreath. For the 10 inch wreath I used, 2 strips cut from 1 yard of fabric was just the right amount.
Once you have cut or torn your fabric strips, start wrapping them around the wreath only slightly overlapping the previous wrapped portion. It is not necessary but you can glue down the beginning end of the strip of fabric. Continue wrapping until the wreath is completely covered and glue down the end of the final strip of fabric.
After your wreath is wrapped in fabric, arrange and glue down your embellishments.
Optional: To hang your wreath, you can add a strip of coordinating fabric to the top using a slip knot or you can leave as is and use a door hanger to hang your finished fall wreath!
The last step is to hang your wreath, sit back and admire what you’ve just done!
