See how you can transform a plain dollar spot pallet pumpkin into a cute piece of wall decor. Does it get any better than fall decor on the cheap?!
How many times have you walked into Target and walked right passed the dollar spot without even so much as a glance? (P.S. Did you know you can shop the dollar spot AKA bullseye playground online now??)
If you said, never, you’re lying! lol
I was in Target not long ago and stopped to see what Fall decor they had. With just a tiny bit if digging, I came across a couple of pallet pumpkins! I wish I had grabbed both but I only purchased one. Wah, wha.
Anyway, I already had an idea in mind for what I was going to do with it before I even made it to check out.
Before I transformed it, I used it for a couple of Fall flat lay photos (you might have seen one of them on Instagram).
Okay, on to the transformation….
Dollar Spot Pallet Pumpkin
I already had some leaves that I had purchased from Dollar Tree last year. They were left over from this DIY wreath. I decided to add those around the stem. I simply hot glued them on.
Then I took some larger sized jute that I had and tied two strands around the stem. Once I had my knot, I unraveled the rest of the twine and tied it in a bow.
I had originally thought to add a fall word cutout across the front but I couldn’t find anything and I didn’t want to make one out of paper since this was likely going on my front porch. So I dug through my fabric stash and found some leftover fabric that I used on this wreath and made a mini bunting banner. Once I had the banner made, I placed it how I wanted it and attached it with a couple dots of hot glue on the back (enough to make sure it would be secure).
I thought it turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself. If I find a small fall themed wood word cutout (say that 3 times fast) then the mini bunting may get switched out but the bunting works just as well.
To hang it on my front door, I fed some rust colored ribbon through the hanger on the back and tied a bow at the top.
Now that I have my door hanger for fall, I need to add some fall to the porch.
