This year I’m loving netural fall decor but also still love having pops of color.
The weather is finally starting to give us a sneak peek of Fall. It’s been raining for daysss and our temps are definitely cooler. At this point, I’m over the rain but the cooler temps can stay.
Just as the weather has been slowly turning to Fall, I have been slowly bringing out my Fall decor. There’s not a lot. It’s sprinkled here and there but isn’t too overwhelming. Don’t be fooled though, my desire to add many more pumpkins and colorful fall leaves is there. It’s a burning desire that I am trying so hard to extinguish because well, the budget just isn’t there.
It’s all good though. I’m making due with what I have and I may or may not have (and will) pick up a thing or two when the budget allows.
Sometimes simplicity is good. It can still be cozy and there’s less to put away when it’s time to switch over your decor to the next season.
At least this is what I’m telling myself.
If I say it enough, maybe I can convince myself of this fact. Besides, putting away decor is my least favorite part of decorating for the seasons and holidays.
I am completely drawn to the neutral vignettes I have set up this year. Maybe someday I’ll switch to mostly neutral decor.
But then there’s color…..I have a really hard time resisting pops of color. Neutrals are calming but color is fun! Having young kids makes me want to have some fun in our home.
Maybe there’s a compromise…..neutrals in the everyday and color during the holidays? We could use a little more calm in our home. Our girls are very energetic. We are old and tired….it’s sometimes hard to keep up with them.
Or maybe I’ll just keep the color and stare at the neutrals when I need some calm in my life.
How about you? Is your home full of neutrals or full of color? Does your seasonal/holiday decor differ from your everyday decor?
